Out in the garden

Today was such a lovely day that I just couldn't bare to spend it indoors!
Instead...I weeded a few more of my beds...

And mowed...
And edged...
And weeded some more and collected another 5 gallon bucket of those nasty maple helicopter seeds!
They are the very bane of my existence! Just thought i would share that...surely you feel the same!

Whew! I'm exhausted! "Plum Wore Out " as my Grandmother would have said!

But I thought I would share my woodland phlox with you...
And my Allium

I still have so much to do yet.
Tomorrow, I'm tilling the raised beds in my potager...

And getting them ready for planting (weather permitting)
I have been collecting some amazing pictures and ideas on my newest pinterest board
Check it out if you get a chance!

If I have time...I am  planting some boxwood in front of Tinker House

Have a great rest of the week!

  1. Hi Donna - I had the day off, and spent it gardening at home! Whew...I'm exhausted, too :-)
Your alliums and phlox are gorgeous! Please share more photos of your lovely gardens with us. BTW, my alliums (both the white and purple) are super tall this year.

  7. Love your beautiful allium! I've wanted to plant some for years. I'm sure the helicopters are very annoying to clean up, but my three year old son loves them. It brings me such joy watching him as he throws them up in the air and is delighted watching them spin to the ground. :)

  8. Hi Donna,
I just found your blog and am very glad I did! Your gardens are so lovely and lush. Here in Ontario Canada we had a wonderful early spring and then a cold snap, I am full of envy looking at your blooms!

  9. Your garden is beautiful!1 Those maple " Helos" are a problem I us my leaf blower on reverse with a bag and suck them up pretty quickly :0) Otherwise I have to be pulling little maple trees all summer long and I can hear them screaming as they come up out of the ground :0(
