Hello, my name is Emmitt

Hello everyone,
My name is (Doc) Emmitt Brown/Jenkins and I have just arrived here on Church Street!

I guess you can say...
I'm back...back from the future!
And I have seen that this going to be a blast!

By the way, I'm a golden retriever!
And...As the newest member of our family, I have been very busy breaking in the parents!

Even though I'm small now...one day, I will be big!

I'm already 6 1/2 weeks old and 7 weeks old on Wednesday!
I weigh almost 8 pounds...Quite the handful or two as I'm told.
See, I'm getting bigger by the minute!

But...
I have no patience...NONE AT ALL!
When I am hungry...
I want to eat right this minute!

I don't want to wait until you've washed my new bowl or figured out where you want me to eat.
Here and now works great!

After I eat and then stand in my new bowl for awhile...

I go outside!
Grass, twigs and leaves are such  fun!

If you're a really, really lucky puppy...
It will do this thing they call "Snow"
It's so great!
Follow me...I will show you!

I really like to play in this stuff!

But I can work too! Look at me helping!

You take the low road...
And I'll take the high road!
And we will meet somewhere down....

Here! Way out here!

Dad is explaining why we do our "business" in the grass! Way out here, away from mommy's flowers!

Great Scott!
My own area!

Aren't these paths cool?
I am supposed to stay on them when we "go out"

But it's more fun to get in the deep stuff

Sometimes...you sink right in!

I have discovered that snow is very tasty...but to avoid the yellow kind...Not so great!

I am learning so fast!

Just today...
I learned the word "No" but have no idea what it means even though I have heard many times now!
I also discovered steps...

The going up is much easier than  the coming down believe me!
Just watch...I can do this really fast!

I'm getting pretty tired now!
Time for a good towel drying, a warm blanket and a nap!

It's been so nice to meet you...I am sure you will be seeing more of me from now on!
There is so much happening at our house and I am finding out...
I'm not supposed to get into most of it!
But I have found my way around and it will be just a matter of time!

  5. OMG Emmitt is such a blessing! I love your narrative throughout the pics, such fun. What a cute little bugger. It is obvious he will be loved so much. My dog Albert is the first dog I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life and I can not imagine a life without a dog in my future as a result of being with him.
Thanks for such a delightful post.

  12. Oh, reminds me a bit of when my labs were babies. They are so precious and loving and playful and ......then there's the mess and chewing and accidents oh my. So much fun but so much work. As you know though they make the most wonderful companions when they are a bit older. I think goldens and labs are almost human when they get a little older.

  30. You did a great job picking just the right home Emmitt! Congrats on finding your new home. Be patient with your doggie parents training. They are slower than you are at getting it just as you want, you little smarty pants. :)
