I've been in my studio from first light until dusk working on "Little Misses" wedding each day...
Just thought I would check in with you this evening and show you a few more pictures of our Christmas Decor.
This year...
With so much going on...
I chose to keep things very simple.
I left out all of my everyday items and merely tucked in a bit of greenery, a few snowflakes and some pinecones!
My sweet face...got a wreath made of dusty miller and cedar! Whimsical don't you think?
I love Mercury Glass, I use it everyday of the year throughout the house, but at Christmas...
It really seems to shine.
There is nothing more simple than to fill a tarnished silver serving piece with seasonal bling and natural elements.
In the kitchen...
The plate rack that sweet hubby built me for my birthday is dressed up with cookie ornaments I made last year.
Just a few more pinecones, dusty miller and greens and it's quite cheerful here in our nearly finished kitchen.
The metal shelves are home to my collection of tiny houses...
In the dining room...
I just added more cookie ornaments and greenery!
I think almost everything looks better under a cloche!
I use them everywhere too!
Nothing special really, but all of these simple things...made our home quite festive!
Back in the living room...
One more look at the staircase garland...
I so... love this black script ribbon this year!
Well, that is about it for now!
Have you completed you Christmas decorating or...
Are you just getting started?
Normally,
I am adding things until Christmas Day!
But this year, things are different.
I am nearly complete with the things we will be taking with us for our daughters wedding in Las Vegas...
Just about a month from now!
We are all so excited... but it has made for a very busy year!
Two weddings in about 3 months of each other!
I am now So...ready for things to slow down a bit and get back to work on our home renovation!
For now, I think I will just sit here and look at the Christmas lights!
Have a wonderful weekend!
everything looks so gorgeous! and with everything you have going on...you are quite a wonder!

It's all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDonna,
ReplyDeleteOh my! Everything you have done is exquisite.
The simple green garlands, the mercury acorns, the pine cones all of it is lovely, and, yes, cloches do make everything seem like a special curiosity.
I love that ornate mirror in your livingroom, too.
Two weddings in three months? Sounds like an exhausting yet exhilarating last few months. Hang in there.

My beautiful PrimaDonna...your simple touches are simply lovely. Isn't it amazing how mercury glass can make everything sparkle around it. I leave mine out all year long too. New...old...I don't care...I love it.

Is there a tutorial for the coookie ornaments on your blog? If not, would you mind sharing how you made them? They're beautiful, and I'd like to make some for my home.
ReplyDeleteYour home and Christmas decor is stunning, Donna. No - perhaps the word is "magical"! Love the little cookie ornaments, and I too would love it if you could share the instructions with all of us. :)
ReplyDeleteI cleaned our tiny house yesterday and am still making a few new ornaments, and then I will begin decorating. The cold I had really set me back with everything I wanted to get done. Snow is in the forecast, so that should help get me in the mood. :)
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
Hugs,
Zuzu
It all looks so beautiful! I think your simple Chriatmas decorating is much more beautiful than eleaborate Christmas decorating because your lovely home is the backdrop! Two weddings in about three months...wow! I think you need a beach vacation after that. :)
ReplyDeletelovely. you have inspired me to keep it simple. (although, somehow, your "simple" looks well planned and designed!)

Donna, I love all your decorating. You truly have the knack . I like to just add an ornament or some greenery to everyday items too. You have been one very busy lady. I know you'll love a little break when the time comes. Your children are blessed with a caring mother.xoxo,Susie
