A New Entrance...and some news!

Welcome Everyone!

That is the sentiment that I hope my new front porch projects!

You might remember about this time last year, when we started the front porch/entry project.

How we reclaimed the boards...which were then used to clad our kitchen island...
And reused the existing ceiling that we found under two layers of false ceiling and vinyl.UGH!

Then in March of this year, The new entry was enclosed...

Trimmed out and then painted in late June.
(This is our second front door my friends,we had an issue with the first one...it just didn't want to close properly!)

So, our new front door finally arrived...
It was installed...and..
Just this past week...

I was able to say..."Our front entry is now complete"
On the outside anyway!
The inside...
Well, that's a whole different thing! But we are ever so much closer!

After all of this...I truly just want it to say"

"Welcome to our home"

I  have some exciting news!
OUR CABINETS ARE BEING DELIVERED  ON SATURDAY!
eeekkk!!! I am so excited!

Until next time...Have a fabulous rest of the week and weekend!

***After receiving several emails rather quickly...the color of the paint on my front door is :
Seafoam  Storm~from Valspar (Lowes) The french wire demilune table and chair were purchased at Horton's several years ago, the oversized mat is from Ballards and the siding color on the porch was custom matched to our James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding and trim which we have just begun installing.***

Hope this helps!

  4. Oh Donna, it is just lovely! That door is the style I'm considering for our front door! We had a new door put in 15 years ago when we moved in because you couldn't use the front door - if you did, getting it back closed was almost impossible - we are now considering replacing it again when we put new siding on - sometime in the next 15 years most likely!!! LOL! And SO exciting about your cupboards! Have fun seeing them go in!

  5. You have to post the colour you used on the front door - love it!
The texture that batten board offers makes the entrance even more inviting. It does say 'welcome'.

Your colors are soothing. I couldn't tell...did you paint the ceiling of the porch "Haint Blue"?
You can't see me, but I'm doing a happy dance...conga style...over your new cabinets.

  18. I love everything you do!!! I thought your first picture was from Pinterest and your inspiration pic. Wow - it's your door. Just beautiful. I find the older I get, the more I want to do things better than ever, especially since it will be the last time I do them. My new motto is: do it to the best of my ability and affordability. Even though I am very handy, I am still limited in both of these areas, but I try to go a little further beyond my budget to get the best I can afford, and it always makes a difference. Your home is a real inspiration to me and I can hardly wait to see your kitchen.
