Welcome to my World!
My grandmother, Nana, once told me
"One day,You will find a way to share the gifts and talent that the Lord gave you to bless the lives of others"
She also said that I would have a place to do just that.
When she was no longer with us, her words were breathed into life.
The cottage that we built for her, is now my studio.
And I believe she knew it would be...all along.
This is my sewing room in the cottage.
It is my place to dream...
To create...And to visit with you...my dear friends in Blogland.
.
Since I spend a great deal of time here...
I wanted this space to be special.
Filled with treasures ...
I also wanted it to be beautiful as well as functional.
I found and fell in love with a wallpaper 5 years ago.
It is a formal garden theme toile in aqua, cream and taupe.
I then wallpapered the room with it and even found matching fabric for roman shades!
Mr. Bill built my ladder shelving and I skirted an old table I found in taupe linen.
We had the room carpeted in an aqua color and well...I moved right in!

as well as
at the different events we do during the year!
Everything I make, I wish to be beautiful and to bless the one who recieves it.
Mr. Bill built this daybed for me in what used to be the closet.
He then put in lots of shelves...
And I upholstered the door to the furnace so that I had an idea board.
... a place for me to put treasures.
At the start of everyday...right after I have come in from my garden ...
You can find me here.
Tucked into this little nest of sorts.
Surrounded by my favorite things.
The little cocoon of comfy pillows is my retreat.
Even on the days when I work at the store...
This is where I start my day...It is where I have my quiet time.
My view from this perch is that of my garden and of my sewing area.
It is also where I blog.
I am so thankful for blogging.
It has allowed me connect with others who share the same interests and passions...
To be inspired by each of you...my friends...by your incredible talent and kind hearts.
You are all such a wonderful family of friends and I am so grateful for your kindness, encouragement and support.
You are all such a wonderful family of friends and I am so grateful for your kindness, encouragement and support.
I was so excited when Karen Valentine decided to do the
Where Bloggers Create Party again!
I couldn't wait to see where each of you create and dream!
I was even looking forward to sharing my space.
I must tell you though...
Much cleaning was required to get it photo ready!
We are just a few weeks away from the
And well...
It was really A MESS!
But, I did find a few things I had misplaced! So I am grateful that a cleaning was required!
I had hoped to have shown you my new utility room.
But it's not quite ready.
Here's a sneak peak though!
Mr. Bill just finished building the workbench!
He made the legs himself on his lathe to look like old french farmhouse table legs.
Once he is finished,
I will paint it and skirt it so that you don't see my roller carts.
The countertop was reclaimed from our old kitchen.
Yes, It's Aqua!
I have always loved this color!
This was all we could reuse and it's no longer available.
I will share more photos of this room soon.
It is very close to being complete and I am thrilled!
Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing my atelier.
I have loved sharing it with you
I have loved sharing it with you
and hope that it inspires you
to create such a place of your own.
Please pop over to Karen's
for the links to the rest of the party goers!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Until next time,
