A Winter Wish

Winter is definitely upon me.

It's enveloping blanket of white has wrapped me up and filled me peace.

I needed this.
I needed the clean start that a freshly fallen snow can give.

the coziness that a thick, white blanket,

a good book to captivate...

and a cup of something warm to drink create.

The pure bliss of knowing...
I won't be leaving this little cottage today!

For many days now,
My mind has been lost in thought...
in the landscape...
and in my always expanding list of "to do's"

From my tiny perch there is such silence out in my garden...

That did not wish to move

For fear it would slip away .

Bringing me back to reality...
back to the many responsibilities that we all face.

But for now...
The hush of the snow as it gently finds it's way to the ground

Is mesmerizing.

Drifts  of white appear as if by magic

I am again  lost in my  thoughts.

Minutes slip into hours.

As Winter sets in...
My thoughts move to indoor amusements.
Quiet pastimes...
a favorite verse...
"Be still and know that I am God"
Psalm 46:10

And a Wish...

For  everyone to be filled with Winter's Sweet Serenity.
To find peace in the quiet of a White Winter's Day
To take a moment to be still.

This is my Winter's Wish for you...
My dear friends.

May you be as happy as my beloved dog Otis Blue..

Find peace and abundant joy in the simple things.

I Hope Each of you have Wonderful White Wednesday!

A special Thank you to Kathleen
At Faded Charm for hosting this weekly event.

blessings to one and all...donna

  6. Hi Donna ~ I love your wintery pictures. Your garden room with the doors and windows looks wonderful, I remember reading about it in an earlier post a while back.
While we have risen to snow covered landscapes here the last two days it has been bitter cold but tonight it is a high of 23! WO-HO! ;-)

Wishes to you and your family for a wonderful and truly Happy New Year!

Love and blessings for the New Year,
