Chapter One of The Holiday Season

Hello everyone!

What do you think of our snowball chandies?
I love them!
I really think they need to come home with me!

It has been a long  weekend
But wonderful !
I am sorry that I am just now getting around to doing a post on this past Saturday's Christmas Open House.
I was a tad bit tired and well...kind of took Sunday off.
Rebecca left right around noon and I crawled under a throw and watched Pride and Prejudice in between nod offs!

This is Rebecca's Fabulous little spot

I didn't get any pictures of Rebecca...But I know Tracey did!
As did Theresa!
She suprised me with a visit from Kentucky!
and she and her sweet hubby are just precious!
She was rockin her Magnolia pearl!
I borrowed this pic from Rebecca who borrowed it from Theresa!
Hee, hee!
I also finally got to meet Jennifer Rizzo and she is just a doll!
Here she is with Tracey!
Who is also a doll!

It is so much fun getting to meet friends from blogland in person!

Anyhow...
I made up a few quick collages so that you can get a feel of how things looked in each area and I will let you see some more pictures in a few days...

This area is called "Where Angels feet have tread"

And this is "Peppermints and snowboots"

Our take on the more traditional Christmas was "For the Birds"
I really love this birch paper ribbon!
The texture of it makes it interesting to work with!

And then the main story this year was "Step into Christmas"
Based on fun ephemera and shoes!

Old time worn and patina finshes on all of the merchandise...my kind of funky and fun!

Our Main entry has an antique sleigh as the focal point .
We used vintage picnic plaids to complete to look.

The potting bench was made from reclaimed lumber and an old window!
It is another one of my favorite pieces.

And Who is at Horton's?
Well...We are hoping it's you!
I have many other photos to share but I will save them for later!
And don't forget to check Rebecca, Theresa, Jen and Tracey blogs for more pictures of
 Saturday's Open House!
Until next time!

  9. Donna, this is INCREDIBLE! The displays are definitely eye candy and to think this is a "hardware store". I can hardly wait to see more. I can appreciate the volume of time that went into these beautiful displays. Certainly makes me wish I lived close to visit in person.
