Got a closet? Will give you a bath!

For the better part of my summer,
If I had an hour,
you could find me upstairs working on the new bathroom we were adding.
I was going to begin working on the Christmas Collection
and not work any further on this project until January...
and then  I heard from my kids.

"Mom, we are coming home for Christmas!"

Of course I'm excited and can't wait to see them!

but we don't currently have a functional bathroom in the main house!
So...back upstairs I go...
because I'm so very close to completing the new upstairs bathroom.
I have got just a few things left to complete
 and I will be done!
This is the antique storm door I found to use as the door to what once was...a closet,
but is now...Our New Upstairs Bathroom!

This really is the original color!
I've got a new look in store for the glass insert. I will share that with you as soon as it's done!

I finished grouting the tile just today! I've still got a few things to do like, caulk and seal the subway tiles..you know that sort of thing.

I made the shower curtain and attached it a galvanized pipe from the plumbing dept. (It's hung on galvanized hooks...the kind you see on a chain link fence)

This is another antique piece in it's original color!
Mr. Bill had to cut it down considerably though. He made me a place for some baskets. And reattached this piece of trim. It was on the bottom of the dresser, once upon a time.

My kids are not going to believe this...We've got water!
Okay, so this was just a really quick peek .
But I'll be back soon to show you some more photos of our new upstairs bathroom!
( Just saying that is so wonderful for me!)

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  1. Oh how i love the faucet that hangs on the wall. My very first home I owned was a 1927 cottage bungalow with a stoop porch front and back with built in cabinets... original hardwood floors, coved ceilings and so much more. I miss my oldie but goodie home 1266 sq. feet. I know own my 3rd home and it is new or newer 1988 3000 sq. feet and would give it up in a heart beat to have my sweet cottage charm home back. I am so envious when I hear about people living in these sweet vintage homes and fixing them up loving every minute of it. Your bathroom is lovely simple farm house elegance... (sigh :)) Have a great Sunday.

  5. Haha, there's nothing like potential visitors (even if it is family) to get motivated to finish projects.
That sink and vanity are great. Mr Bill must be quite the handyman!
Hope the kids appreciate the effort :o)
